CHO-OYU EXPEDITION

Cho Oyu (8,188 m), the world's sixth-highest mountain, is widely regarded as the best introduction to Himalayan expedition climbing and the ideal first 8,000-meter peak. Expedition Overview

The expedition begins in Kathmandu, where permits are finalized and equipment preparations are completed. From there, you will travel overland to the Tibetan border and continue across the vast Tibetan Plateau, gradually gaining altitude to support acclimatization.

The journey proceeds to Tingri, the last major settlement before Base Camp. From Base Camp, yaks transport expedition equipment to Advanced Base Camp (ABC), which serves as the expedition's primary base for the next several weeks.

The Climb

The ascent follows the standard northwest route, climbing predominantly moderate snow slopes with short sections of ice and mixed terrain. Fixed ropes are installed on the more technical sections to enhance safety and efficiency.

A dedicated team of experienced high-altitude Sherpas provides invaluable support throughout the expedition, assisting with load carrying, camp establishment, route preparation, and summit logistics.
